Carl E. Prather, 72, of Wood River passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at his home. He was born June 1, 1948 in Alton, IL to Luke and Lucille (Snoddy) Prather. He married Mary (Mousette) Scroggins November 7, 1994.
Carl worked in Shipping for the Purex Dial Corporation. He also played Santa Clause at Cabela’s. He was a lifetime member H.O.G., B.A.S.S. and the N.R.A. He was a member of the Bethalto Masonic Lodge 406 A.F. & A.M. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Prather of Wood River; two sons, Cary Prather of Wood River and Kirk (Stacy) Prather of Godfrey; daughter, Jennifer (Rob) Hunter of Montana; grandchildren, Sean (Erin) Prather, Noah, Dakota, and Sarah Prater, Julia (Jessie) Mathis, Tate, Sam and Kelsey Hunter and 2 son in laws: Bill “Gurk” (Lisa) VanHoose and Mike (Missy) VanHoose.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Lee Prather.
