Judith M. Stults O’Brien, age 80, of rural Modesto, Il. died Tuesday evening (January 5, 2021) at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Il.
She was born September 26, 1940 in Palmyra, Il. daughter of the late Morris and Eula Selhime Stults.
Surviving are two daughters, Marcia Sims of Regent, N.D. and Jennifer Launer (Joe) of Modesto, Il.; four grandchildren, Colton Sims of Kentucky, and Brad Launer, Audrey Launer and Tucker Launer of Modesto, Il.; siblings, Norman Stults (Phyllis) of Springfield, Il., Melissa Tarver of Palmyra, Il. and Mary Walbert (Ken) of Shreveport, La.; two brothers-in-law, Don Monroe of Angleton, Tx. and Larry Maher of Springfield, Il.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Carol Munro and Patricia Maher.
Judith was a graduate of Northwestern High School and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Il. and worked as a bookkeeper for various banks and car dealerships in the area for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Private graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Macoupin Co. Animal Shelter c/o Stults-Neece Chapel, 349 E. Tanner St., Waverly, Il. 62692. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.airsman-hires.com.
