Alice E. Weddersten, age 92 of Roodhouse passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Heritage Health in Jacksonville. She was born February, 8, 1928 in Roodhouse, the daughter of Ward and Elsie Smock Ballard. She married Clarence David Weddersten August 9, 1947 in Roodhouse and he preceded her in death March 24, 2001.
She is survived by a daughter, Cathy Hunnicutt of Jacksonville, a son, Douglas David Weddersten of Roodhouse, five grandchildren, Mathew David Hunnicutt, David William Weddersten, Marissa Dawdy, Andrew Ray Weddersten, Michael John Weddersten, and four great grandchildren, Charity Pennington, Christopher Hunnicutt, Addison and Sophia Dawdy, a sister in law, Peggy Ballard of White Hall, and a niece, Elsie Gibbs of Alsey. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Martha Thompson, Cassie Guthrie, Irene Williams, and Rosemary Ballard, and six brothers, Gilbert, Ed, Ward K., Leo, Homer, and Lawrence Ballard.
Alice worked for RECO in Roodhouse for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, playing BINGO, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Alice had a strong Christian Faith.
Private services will be held at Fernwood Cemetery in Roodhouse. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Roodhouse is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com
