Daniel Koroby, 61, of Mt. Olive and formerly of Madison, Illinois passed away at 4:11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, Missouri. He was born November 17, 1958 in Granite City, a son of the late Charles and Dorothy Mae (Heath) Koroby. He married Mary Edith “Edie” (Graf) Koroby on September 16, 2019 in Hot Springs, Arkansas and she survives. He worked at Granite City Steel with 33 years of dedicated service as a steelworker. Daniel loved attending concerts and dining out and enjoyed his days of fishing and traveling. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry Koroby and Gina Schoffra of Granite City and Jacob Koroby of Mt. Olive; a daughter, Candace Koroby of Edwardsville; a step-daughter, Margaret S. Scarsdale of Troy; thirteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Tom Koroby of Madison; a sister, Charlene Koroby of Colorado Springs, Colorado; other extended family and many friends.
In celebration of his life, a public drive through visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Friday, October 9, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. A private visitation and funeral service will follow. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
