Carol E. Proffitt, 68 of Granite City passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
Carol was born on December 26, 1952 in Evansville, IN; the daughter of the late Clinton and Elouise (Holder) Carrico. Carol was a homemaker and mom who had a talent for crafts and a love for horses. Carol had an enjoyment of being outside, especially if it was spending time with her family. She will be remembered for the love of her family and all the special times they shared together.
Carol is survived by and will be missed by her husband; Richard Proffitt, whom she married on March 7, 1969; her sons, Chris and Charlotte Proffitt of Granite City, Tim Proffitt of Granite City, Nick and Jeremy Proffitt of Granite City; grandchildren, Shannon and Andrew Hardebeck, Rachel Burks, Jennifer and Nick Robertson, Leeah Proffitt, Timothy Heady, Justin Proffitt, Kayla Proffitt, Amber Proffitt, Tyler Proffitt; great-grandchild, Llewyn Robertson; brothers, Mark Carrico, Melvin and Dana Carrico and many other close family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brother; Mike Ward and her sister, Cyndee Ward.
In celebration of Carol’s life, graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at St. John Cemetery, 2550 Maryville Road in Granite City with Pastor Greg Dickerman officiating.
Anyone wishing to continue Carol’s life celebration is welcome to come by the family home after the burial at 2425 Sunbury Ave. in Granite City and join the family in their celebration. The family has requested any flowers are to be sent to the family home.
