Make-A-Wish Illinois needs volunteers in Madison County to help grant wishes for children in the area. Bilingual volunteers fluent in English and Spanish are especially needed.
Hope is medicine for children with critical illnesses. A wish helps kids look past their limitations, helps families overcome anxiety and helps communities experience joy. Most importantly, wishes can improve a child’s quality of life. Though many wishes have been postponed, work continues to help children to discover the heart of their wish. Preparation for future wishes continues and volunteers are needed to support those efforts.
Volunteer information webinars occur every few weeks. Sign up to attend a session at Local Events. The next two sessions are Dec. 8 and Dec. 15. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wish-granting volunteers work in teams of two to create life-changing wishes for children and have support from the Make-A-Wish staff. All volunteers must be older than 21 and submit an application, reference and background check; complete an online and brief in-person training to begin granting wishes.
