The Greater Gateway Association of Realtors consistently supports communities it serves in Bond, Calhoun, Fayette, Montgomery, Macoupin, Madison, and other Metro East counties.
“Realtors are community members first and foremost,” association President Elaine Rhodes stated. “We are always thinking of ways to make our community a better place to live and work. GGAR’s members are always willing to dig deep to help a good charitable cause, and our local area food pantries do so much for the less-fortunate.”
COVID-19 mitigations have caused the association to rethink how it supports residents in need throughout 2020. In March, the organization hosted its annual Music Themed Trivia Night, making it possible for them to share $3,000 to provide personal protective equipment to area hospitals and nursing home facilities and $4,000 with local food pantries.
The organization hosted Instead of the Taste of GGAR virtual event. Through online donations by members, affiliate business partners, and the public they were able to share $4,100 with 10 area food pantries to help families in need during this holiday season.
“It warmed our members’ hearts to still be able to make a huge impact in people’s lives,” President-elect Kris Schmitt stated. “We knew we had to do something, and this member-led effort made this year’s contributions one of the best yet.”
The association is proud to represent more than 1,500 members. They are led by CEO Kyle Anderson, President Elaine Rhodes, President-elect Kristene Schmitt, Vice President Jean Lewis and Immediate Past President Rick Lauschke.
