Alton Little Theater and the chefs at Post Commons will host Seasons of Love, a special dining experience at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13. Shea and Samantha Maples wanted to "cook up" an evening of gourmet dinner, signature cocktails and Broadway tunes as a fundraiser for the theater and a unique holiday outing for 50 lucky guests.
Seasons of Love will feature French cuisine in the spacious dining room inside the Commons, 300 Alby St. in Alton. Hopefully, this event will initiate collaborations with fine restaurants throughout the coming year, so that special events are indeed celebrated by small galas of food and entertainment. Tickets are $50 per person and the revenue is part of December's push to boost ALT's annual giving campaign.
The theater has also designed a new three-show Spring Fling Flex Ticket on sale for $50 through Dec. 31. This great holiday gift gives theater lovers a chance to choose three shows out of five productions scheduled from January to May 2021 (holiday card included).
ALT will bring its big holiday musical “Sister Act” to the stage Dec. 11-20 for eight performances. Twenty-four singers and actors were cast in this lively show set at Christmastime in Philadelphia, circa 1978. Presales have already sold out three performances and ALT anticipates a complete sellout. So come help Delores Van Cartier celebrate the holidays — word has it the "diva" from “Sister Act” will do a special number at the Seasons of Love benefit as well.
